Twenty Eight: Intro

28 has been my favorite number since I was smart enough to know how old my dad was.

My dad was the coolest person in the world. I wanted to be just like him.

I told myself when I was a little kid I was going to be the coolest guy ever when I turned 28.

I wanted to be the coolest 28 year old because my dad was! I've put all of my energy into being someone special at 28.

I'm here now. I'm 28. And I'm not who I expected I'd become at all.

I'm still pretty cool.

But cool in better & worse ways than I could ever imagine as a kid.

Turns out my dad WAS the coolest person in the world. For me & my family. Not for everybody.

Nobody can be the coolest person in the world for everybody.

And, to be honest, he's wayyy cooler now at 49. One of the raddest 50 year olds I'll have ever met, pretty soon.

I've been writing privately a lot since turning 28. Back in October.

I've been journaling & writing fictional essays based on all the stuff I chased or admired & lived through or became.

I've been holding onto it all until I could spend more time with it & appreciate my journey more.

For the year, I'll be blogging on my website. Here I am sharing 28 essays with y'all.

I'm excited for y'all to read more of my writing.

I'm not at all what I expected to be at 28. But I'm damn proud of who I've become chasing 28.

I think my dad's proud of me, too.

Stay tuned for more written content.

You'll see it soon.

Cheers.
